Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen is a fashion house that has pushed the boundaries of fashion for more than two decades. Founded in 1992 by Lee Alexander McQueen, the brand made it clear from the very beginning that he was a true visionary. His bold and unconventional designs set him apart from other designers, and he quickly became known for his distinctive aesthetic and strong signature style.
Born in London in 1969, McQueen was introduced to the world of fashion at a young age. He began his career working on Savile Row, London’s famed street known for its impeccable tailoring. In 1992, McQueen launched his eponymous label, which rapidly gained a reputation for daring and original designs. Over the years, his work continued to challenge fashion norms, blending dramatic elements and surprise that captivated fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
Tragically, McQueen passed away in 2010, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and influence the fashion industry. His brand has continued to evolve under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, who was appointed creative director following McQueen’s death. Burton has remained faithful to McQueen’s legacy while also bringing her own unique perspective to the house.
