Champion
Champion is an American athletic apparel brand that has been established since 1919, originally known as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills and founded by the Feinbloom brothers in Rochester, New York. From the beginning, Champion emphasized functionality and durability, especially for collegiate sports teams and military uniforms. One of their major innovations was the Reverse Weave technology, introduced in 1938 to reduce fabric shrinkage during washing, a method that later received a patent and became a hallmark of Champion.
Over time, Champion evolved into a lifestyle brand while staying true to its athletic roots. The brand not only creates apparel for athletes but is also well recognized in streetwear and casual fashion. Today, Champion offers environmentally friendly collections through its “Eco Future Reverse Weave” line, featuring CiCLO® technology to help reduce microplastic pollution.
