Kenzo
Kenzo is a fashion house of Japanese origin founded in Paris in 1970 by Kenzo Takada. Takada was born in Himeji, Japan, in 1939 and moved to Paris in 1964 to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Kenzo expanded the brand and opened stores in cities such as New York, Tokyo, and Milan. He also launched menswear lines, fragrances, and home furnishings.
In 1993, Kenzo retired from his eponymous label and sold the brand to the LVMH group. Under LVMH ownership, the brand continued to grow and expanded into new markets, including Asia and the Middle East.
Today, Kenzo remains known for its bold, colorful designs inspired by nature, art, and cultures from around the world. The brand has also expanded into new categories such as eyewear, watches, and jewelry. In 2021, Kenzo appointed Nigo, a well-known fashion figure and the founder of the renowned streetwear brand A Bathing Ape.
