The Air Force 1 Shadow , launched in 2019, is a modern update of the classic AF1 from the 80s. The sneaker is made of leather and fabric. The name "Shadow" comes from the effect created by the layers of the upper, such as the Swoosh logo , the tongue tag and the upper overlays, creating extra shadows and depths in the look of the sneaker.

As opposed to its clad-leather upper, the pictured pair chooses a tightly knit canvas to set the stage as its blank white base layer, color-matching the latter across the quarter overlay and mudguard.
Accenting its forefoot with light grey trim, the sock liner and lacing structure with notes of cream, the heel’s secondary panel enjoys a dark “Sail” treatment before a lasting greyscale assemblage land along the tongue tab and shadowed mid-foot check.
Casting its secondary Swoosh and embroidered heel tab in a soft tan finish, the double-branded sole unit concludes with a lightened wash of “Sail” underfoot.
